Hamon is a dedicated Asian and Global Emerging Markets (“GEM”) specialist based in Hong Kong and London that provides asset management through mutual funds, sub-advised funds and managed accounts to global institutional clients and family offices in Asia, Europe and the U.S.A.
Our Group through its subsidiaries is licensed in Hong Kong (the Securities and Futures Commission (“SFC”)) and the United Kingdom (Financial Conduct Authority), as well as registered with the Korean Financial Services Commission.
Our many longstanding institutional business partners from Europe, USA and Asia include HSBC, Merrill Lynch, Lombard Odier and the Bank of New York Mellon (“BNY Mellon”) which became an equity partner in 1998. For 18 years, Hamon managed assets for BNY Mellon, Dreyfus funds and institutional clients looking for exposure in the Asian region. In 2017 due to a change in corporate business focus, BNY Mellon sold its shareholding in Hamon back to its founder.
To provide bespoke solutions tailored to the needs of our international institutional and family office clients, Hamon continues to expand its product offering through acquisition or in partnership with high performance specialist investment managers. In 2008, we acquired Doric Capital, an Asian long/short hedge fund management company, followed by Blackfriars, a London based GEM and Frontier Markets specialist in 2011 from BNY Mellon.
Since inception, Hamon has managed over US$2.3bn in AUM through mutual funds and segregated portfolios for its clients.
